This evening’s program features the Festival’s 2015 Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation artist, violist Vladimir Babeshko, in one of Joseph Joachim’s soaring Hebrew Melodies and in Kodaly’s Serenade for String Trio. Experience the New York Premiere of “Immutable Dreams” by celebrated Hungarian-Canadian composer Kati Agócs and the mighty string Sextet in B-flat Major by Dohnányi, as we honor/explore the legacy of Ernő Dohnányi and his efforts in the 1930-40s to protect Jewish friends from the Nazi regime in Germany and Hungary.
Works by Agócs, Dohnányi, Goldmark, Joachim, Kodaly. Performers include Vladimir Babeshko, Kayla Burggraf, Weiyin Chen, Michael Dahlberg, Amy Galluzzo, Danny Goldman, Paul Huang, Tessa Lark, Angela Lee, Lisa Lee, Derek Mosloff, Nicolas Namoradze, Alex Shiozaki.
